Tutorial #001.

This is my first tutorial ever, so please tell me is it sucks and I should never make another tutorial in my life. I always appreciate constructive criticsm.

in GIMP. It is TRANSLATABLE to any other program that can use curves.

	Step #1. Take your base, in this case it's Evangeline Lilly in Lost. Sharpen it if needed. If it's really dark, add a screen layer to make it about as dark as my base.
	Step #2. Open up curves. (Layer --> Colors --> Curves) Value x:31 y:0 x:149 y:198 x:229 y:255 Red x:9 y:0 x:200 y:192 Blue x:19 y:0 x:192 y:255
	Step #3. Make a new layer, set it to 'Overlay' 100%, and fill it with #b8b8b8.
	Step #4. I guess that's ok, but Kate is looking really pale. Merge all the layers. (Image --> Flatten Image) Go to Hue/Saturation (Layer --> Colors --> Hue/Saturation) and up the satuation +60.

Love the tut! I skipped the Curves bit though, as I can't do them! :P But otherwise, with a bit of tinkering at the end on the Hue/Sat, I got:

Great result, but you do know that if you save it in ,png format, not ,jpg, it won't be all blurry like that? :/

This tutorial was amazing, it helped alot though I had to modify the saturation because it came out to orange. Great job!, make more please. Well here's my icon:

Thanks. :) I can see why some icons would turn orange, now that I think about it, the base I used wasn't that orange-ish. :/
